SickKids contributes to major international reports supporting the United Nations’ new global strategy for women’s, children’s and adolescents’ health

On September 15-27, 2015, world leaders are convening in New York City for the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

On September 15-27, 2015, world leaders are convening in New York City for the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). There, a set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (2015-2030) will be adopted by the United Nations member states to carry forward the progress made by the eight Millennium Development Goals (2000-2015).

The Centre for Global Child Health at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is involved in supporting and advocating for the integration of newborns’, children’s and adolescents’ health in the new global goals and in the development of major international reports that will be launched this week at the United Nations. Members of the Centre for Global Child Health, including Chief, Dr. Stanley Zlotkin, are attending the meeting in support of the United Nation's Every Woman Every Child campaign.

Dr. Zulfiqar A. Bhutta, inaugural Robert Harding Chair in Child Health and Director of Research at the Centre for Global Child Health, is a contributing author of major international reports related to maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health, including the following:
