Dr. Navarro has been a staff radiologist in the General Division in the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) since 2001.

Navarro is the Fellowship Program Director of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging as well as Paediatric Radiology Residency Program Director and member of the Executive and Education Committees in the Department of Medical Imaging at the University of Toronto. He is also the radiologist in charge of teaching rounds in Paediatric Sonography for residents and fellows.

Research

His special research interests are in sonography, abdominal imaging and imaging of soft-tissue masses. He has extensively published in the topics of intussusception, intestinal malrotation, necrotizing enterocolitis, vascular anomalies and other pediatric soft-tissue masses.

Navarro has authored more than 90 peer-reviewed publications in addition to several book chapters, and a large number of scientific oral presentations and educational exhibits. He has been invited to give lectures at numerous meetings and visiting professorships worldwide.
