Georgina MacDougall

Georgina MacDougall joined The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in 1989 as a ward nurse, and for the past 19 years has been the clinic nurse coordinator for the HIV Program, the largest clinic of its kind in Canada.

As a nurse leader in ambulatory care, Georgina promotes best practice and advanced care. In 2010, she co-founded the Ambulatory Nursing Practice Group, to give voice and recognition to the unique role of nursing in ambulatory care. She currently sits on the RN Council as one of the ambulatory representatives, demonstrating her commitment to the development of others through precepting nursing students and providing education sessions to medical trainees, public health, and non-medical people.

Georgina worked within the Infectious Diseases program for nearly 30 yrs. She also worked in the Poison Control Center for 2.5 yrs.

Georgina has an Honours Diploma in Nursing from Humber College. She has participated in life-long learning through undergraduate studies, workshops, conferences and in-house educational opportunities
