Chana Korenblum

Dr. Chana Korenblum is an Adolescent Medicine Specialist in the Division of Adolescent Medicine and Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Toronto. She earned her B.Sc. and MD at the University of Toronto, and completed a residency in Pediatrics and a fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at SickKids, followed by a Psychiatry fellowship in Adolescent and Young Adult Psychosocial Oncology at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. She is cross-appointed at Princess Margaret, within the Centre for Mental Health at the University Health Network. Her clinical interests include supporting teenagers and young adults with chronic illnesses including cancer, mental health concerns, grief and bereavement, sexual and reproductive health, substance use, and eating disorders. Her research interests include evaluating the effectiveness of psychosocial assessments and interventions in young people with chronic illnesses.

Research

Dr. Korenblum’s research interests broadly centre on improving whole-person care for adolescents and young adults with chronic illnesses such as cancer, and their families. More specifically, she looks at creating and evaluating developmentally-tailored psychosocial assessments and interventions, in hospital and out, individually and in groups, across all phases of a disease trajectory.
