Biography

Paolo Campisi joined the staff at SickKids and the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto in July 2004. He earned his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario and completed his residency training at McGill University. He completed his fellowship training in paediatric otolaryngology in Toronto. He holds a Master’s level degree in both pharmacology and otolaryngology. His clinical focus is in disorders of the head and neck, airway, voice and saliva management. He leads The Centre for Paediatric Voice and Laryngeal Function, a subspecialty clinic designed for the care of children with voice disorders.  

Achievements

Dr. Campisi served as Director of Undergraduate Education for the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, University of Toronto from 2005 to 2012 and the Paediatric Otolaryngology Fellowship Director from 2007 to 2012. He was appointed Director of Postgraduate Education in July 2012 and continues to serve in that role. He worked with Dr. Vito Forte in the development of an otoscopy simulator used in undergraduate teaching.

In January 2012, Campisi was elected to a two year term as President of the Medical Staff Association of SickKids. He is a member of the Canadian Society of Otolaryngology, the Triological Society, the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, and the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology.
