SickKids is proud to be named one of the World’s Best Specialized Hospitals for 2025 by Newsweek and Statista.

We've been in the top two spots for four years in a row. Our ranking of second this year is based on 250 children's centres worldwide and a global survey of doctors, health-care professionals and administrators.

The World’s Best Specialized Hospitals 2025 ranking awards the leading hospitals worldwide in twelve medical fields: Cardiac Surgery, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Pulmonology, Urology, and Obstetrics & Gynecology.

“It is truly humbling to be ranked the second-best children's hospital in the world, amongst such a distinguished group of leaders in children’s health. This is a testament to the dedication, expertise, excellence and drive of SickKids staff and the crucial role they play in realizing our vision: Healthier Children. A Better World,” says Dr. Ronald Cohn, SickKids President and CEO.

SickKids is Canada’s largest centre dedicated to improving children’s health care and one of the most research-intensive hospitals in the country, generating discoveries that have helped children across the world.

“Moving forward we are accelerating our Precision Child Health movement at SickKids, using artificial intelligence and other innovative technologies, with the goal of providing individualized, precise care for every patient,” says Cohn.

Precision Child Health is a new era of child and youth care in which every patient’s unique characteristics are considered, from their genetic code to their postal code. That means fueling groundbreaking research, providing faster diagnoses, and creating more targeted treatments by harnessing cutting-edge science, technology and data analysis to help deliver better outcomes.

“Diagnose faster. Treat smarter. Predict better. That’s Precision Child Health and it’s a transformational shift in the approach to children’s health care that we will be leading as one of the world’s best children’s hospitals,” says Cohn.
