The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is proud to be ranked the top paediatric health-care centre in the world, according to Newsweek's 2022 World's Best Hospitals list for facilities specializing in paediatrics.
Newsweek looked at the best health-care facilities in 10 different specialities, including the top 150 paediatric facilities. SickKids was ranked the top paediatric hospital, followed by Boston Children's Hospital and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and is one of three Canadian hospitals in the top 10.
“To rank the best of the best among such a distinguished group of centres dedicated to child health is truly humbling and an incredible achievement,” said Dr. Ronald Cohn, President and CEO of SickKids. “This ranking is a reflection of our child and family-centred care approach and the outstanding quality, expertise and compassion of our incredible SickKids community, including our clinicians and researchers, staff, trainees and volunteers.”
SickKids is Canada's most research-intensive hospital and the largest centre dedicated to improving children's health in the country. The hospital also engages in a variety of initiatives to improve child health around the world, including care, research and learning programming through the SickKids Centre for Global Child Health, SickKids International, our International Patient Program, and more.
In partnership with global research firm Statista, Newsweek invited more than 40,000 medical professionals from more than 20 countries to recommend hospitals based on their level of expertise in a given medical subspecialty. Experts from all over the world were also able to participate via an online survey, with data collected between June to August 2021. Learn more about the 2022 World's Best Specialized Hospitals list.
