SickKids launches COVID-19 Vaccine Consult Service for children, youth and their families
Summary:
Book a confidential phone call with a SickKids clinician to ask your questions about the COVID-19 vaccine for children and youth.
To support the vaccination effort of Ontarians against COVID-19, The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) has launched a COVID-19 Vaccine Consult Service for children, youth and their families.
The Consult Service offers by-appointment phone consultations for children, youth and their families with a trusted health-care professional from SickKids to answer their questions and help make informed decisions about vaccination.
“We have seen the incredible effect of the vaccination effort across Ontario with a large majority of eligible Ontarians now fully vaccinated. However, many parents, caregivers, children and youth may still have questions about the vaccine, which can often be answered through consultation with a knowledgeable, trusted clinician. The Consult Service provides a safe and judgment-free space for this to happen,” says Dr. Julia Orkin, Medical Officer, Integrated Community Partnerships, SickKids. “As eligibility of the vaccine expands to younger age groups, we are pleased to make these confidential appointments available to help caregivers make informed decisions.”
Appointments can be made starting today using an online booking form on the COVID-19 Vaccine Consult Service page. If you need assistance booking an appointment, please call 437-881-3505.
We are grateful to the Government of Ontario for supporting this initiative to help protect the health and safety of all Ontarians during the COVID-19 pandemic.
