SickKids Health Sciences Library

The Health Sciences Library was created in 1919 and is one of the oldest paediatric hospital libraries in North America. The Library supports the Hospitals’ clinical, research, and educational activities by providing access to health science research and resources. It is used by the Hospital’s staff, including physicians, nurses, clinicians, researchers, learners and volunteers. The Library is also open to the public to view the collection onsite.

The Library shares items within the collection to libraries across North America through interlibrary loan reciprocal agreements.

The Library is staffed by experts in information science, including a Reference Librarian, a Library and Information Technician and an Archive Technician. Together the team provides a variety of services to support the information needs of SickKids’ staff.
