Immunization InfoLine
SickKids Immunization InfoLine (formerly Vaccine Consult Service) offers families comprehensive information from a trusted health care professional about all immunizations offered during pregnancy and childhood. Through a scheduled phone appointment with a specially trained nurse, you will have the opportunity to have an open, one-on-one conversation and ask questions about immunizations in a secure and non-judgmental environment.
We support residents of Ontario who:
- Have questions or concerns related to children’s immunization and/or immunization during pregnancy.
- Have questions about immunizations for a child with a complex medical history and/or an immunocompromising condition or treatment
How to book a consultation
You can schedule a consultation using the booking form on this page. Please book the appointment using the name and address of the child or pregnant person being discussed. The phone number you provide should be the number that the nurse will call for the consultation.
Who is eligible to book a consultation
To book a consultation, the patient being discussed must be a resident of the province of Ontario. However, an OHIP card is not required.
Pre-consultation instructions
Once you have booked a consultation, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to an intake form with some questions to help us prepare for your consultation. Please complete and submit this form as it helps us understand your questions and concerns so we can best support you during your appointment.
A Registered Nurse from our team will call the phone number provided at your scheduled appointment time. Please be prepared to answer our call. The caller display will show “SickKids”. If you do not answer the first time we call, we will call back within 15 minutes.
Booking information
- If you are no longer available at the time of your booking, please use the link in your confirmation email to cancel the appointment and then rebook online for another time.
- If you’re having trouble with canceling or rebooking online, please contact us and provide: the patient’s name, booking time, and your phone number.
- If you are unable to find a time to book a consultation that meets your needs, please refer urgent questions to your primary care provider.
- Otherwise, you can check back on the website in a few days for new booking slots to be added, or email us at immunization.infoline@sickkids.ca with your name and phone number to be added to a consultation waitlist.
- If you need language support for your appointment and did not note this when booking, please contact us at least 24 hours before your booking time and indicate your name, appointment date and time, and your preferred language.
