- 2 mL EDTA
Storage and transportation
- Keep blood at the room temperature.
- If sample is from outside Toronto, keep at 2-8 degree (use an icepack).
- Sample must be fresh (taken maximum 24 hours before testing).
- Old sample can cause false results.
- Include a transport control sample (an EDTA blood ~ 1 mL with normal CBC).
Special requirements
- Flow Cytometry Laboratory only accepts samples Monday to Thursday from 8am to 4pm, Fridays 8am to 12pm excluding Holidays and Weekends.
- Specimen stability in Flow testing is only acceptable within 24 hours of collection.
- A complete Blood Count (CBC) and differential are required at the time of draw (Include a copy of the CBC and differential results).
