Yoji Otsuka

Dr. Yoji Otsuka is a paediatric anesthesiologist from Japan. He received his medical degree from Okayama University, Japan in 2002. After his anesthesia and intensive care basic training, he has practiced in Jichi Medical University and Jichi Children's Hospital as a staff paediatric general and cardiac anesthesiologist and a paediatric intensivist since 2008. He served as a clinical director in PICU and a clinical associate chief of the anesthesia department.

Otsuka joined The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in March 2023 as an assistant professor following his paediatric anesthesia fellowship.

Research

Dr. Otsuka's research interests include medical education related to perioperative care and critical care and patient safety. He set up and organized several educational programs including hands-on teaching sessions and workshops for residents and fellows, Journal Club, Morbidity and Mortality (M&M) Reviews, and Code Blue reviews in Jichi Medical University Hospital.
