Biography

Dr. Nora Letechipia is a paediatric emergency physician with clinical practice across both Canada and Mexico. She completed her medical degree and paediatrics residency at Tecnológico de Monterrey. She then worked as a staff physician in the emergency department at TecSalud and ran her own paediatric private practice in Monterrey, Mexico. Dr. Letechipia later pursued fellowship training in paediatric emergency medicine and acute care transport at SickKids. In Mexico, she worked on curriculum and workshop development for medical trainees, an interest she continues to build on through graduate studies, pursuing a Master of Science in Health Practitioner Teacher Education.
She is also engaged in quality improvement work within the paediatric emergency department, focused on improving patient outcomes. She contributed to the development of a standardized order set and care pathway to support the management of agitation in patients with autism spectrum disorder, which has been implemented into clinical practice. Having trained and practised in both Mexico and Canada, Dr. Letechipia is interested in bridging international perspectives and experiences to strengthen paediatric emergency care across health-care systems.
