Research

Dr. Krueger’s current research focuses on cellular therapies and immunological tolerance. Specifically, Dr. Krueger’s research focuses on cellular therapeutic approaches to cancer, including a) CAR T-cells for the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL); he oversees the CAR T-cell trials for patients with acute leukemias and non-Hodgkin lymphomas, as well as treatments with cytotoxic T-cell (CTLs) for patients with Post Transplant Lymphoproliferative Diseases (PTLD) at SickKids. b) Stimulation of NK cells to treat rare brain tumors in children. Dr. Krueger’s research also focuses on techniques for collection of immune effector and hematopoietic stem cells (Apheresis); mechanisms of tolerance in patients with mixed chimeras after allogeneic stem cell transplant and stem cell transplant approaches for patients with hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH).
