  • 2 mL EDTA
Storage and transportation
  • Keep blood at the room temperature.
  • If sample is from outside Toronto, keep at 2-8 degree (use an icepack).
  • Sample must be fresh (taken maximum 24 hours before testing).
  • Old sample can cause false results.
  • Include a transport control sample (an EDTA blood ~ 1 mL with normal CBC).
Special requirements
  • Flow Cytometry Laboratory only accepts samples Monday to Thursday from 8am to 4pm, Fridays 8am to 12pm excluding Holidays and Weekends.
  • Specimen stability in Flow testing is only acceptable within 24 hours of collection.
  • A complete Blood Count (CBC) and differential are required at the time of draw (Include a copy of the CBC and differential results).
