About the Clinic

The Genome Clinic at SickKids is devoted to discovering new diagnostic and treatment options for paediatric disease. Some children who enroll in the clinic will already have had genetic tests in an attempt to uncover what is causing their specific illness. The genome clinic is implementing the use of a new genetic test that will look at all the genes not just a few. This testing is called whole genome sequencing (WGS) and SickKids is the first to use such testing to help diagnose existing paediatric health conditions, make better predictions of disease progression, and guide treatment choices for your child.
