
Christina Bartha
Biography
Christina Bartha is the Executive Director of the Brain and Mental Health Program at SickKids (inclusive of Psychiatry/Telepsychiatry, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Adolescent Medicine, the departments of SocialWork and Psychology) and the Garry Hurvitz Centre for Community Mental Health (GH-CCMH). Bartha has over 30 years of clinical and progressive leadership experience and holds several degrees including a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto. For 20 years at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), Bartha played a leadership role in the CAMH redevelopment and across transformational strategies to improve quality and performance of mental health and addiction services. In 2016, Bartha joined SickKids and led the integration of the former Hincks-Dellcrest Centre (now GH-CCMH) establishing SickKids as one of the largest providers of integrated pediatric mental health services in Canada. In 2020, with Peter Szatmari, Bartha co-led the development of the SickKids’ enterprise-wide Mental Health Strategy, which leverages the collective assets of the hospital, community sites and the Research and Learning Institutes. Bartha has authored and contributed to peer reviewed publications, served on hospital and community cross-sectoral committees and Boards, and been a champion of student education, professional mentorship, and advocacy for improved mental health services for children and youth.
