Pyruvate, blood

Lactate must be done on same sample.

Pyruvate Sample Preparation Protocol
To be done within 30 minutes of blood being drawn.

Add 300 µL of heparinized whole blood to an eppendorf tube containing 300 µL of cold 6% Perchloric acid
Vortex for 30 seconds and keep on ice for 5 minutes
Spin down at 11,000 rpm
Transfer supernatant to a tube and freeze
